In order to ensure that every resident of Lagos State has access to quality and affordable healthcare services, the Lagos State House of Assembly enacted the Lagos State Health Scheme (LSHS) Law in May 2015. The LSHS Law makes it mandatory for all residents of Lagos State in the public and private sector, including the unemployed to be registered under the Lagos State Health Scheme and have a health insurance policy.
The LSHS Law further directs that ALL organizations in the public and private sectors with more than 5 employees MUST register with the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) and obtain a Corporate Identification Number (CIN) with which they are to register all their employees with the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) of their choice. HMOs are not expected to register any organization on their health plans without a CIN.
In compliance with this provision of the LSHS Law, LASHMA, with the assistance of its development partners, has developed a Regulation Portal for the registration and issuance of CIN to all Corporate Organizations as well as licenses to HMOs and Healthcare Providers. In addition to the CIN, all HMOs and Healthcare Providers are expected to be supervised and issued licenses by LASHMA pursuant to their being able to operate in Lagos State.
The portal is user friendly and the entire process of registration takes just a few minutes once you have all necessary information.
YOU ARE WELCOME TO THE LSHS REGULATORY PORTAL.
